Mont St. Michel Tour From Paris

Mont St. Michel Tour Itinerary

You’ll enjoy rolling out of Paris and seeing the French countryside en route to the medieval pirate town of St. Malo. Relax with a croissant and French coffee on the train; the meal car is accessible to both classes.

The St. Malo station is a quaint piece of 19th century history, outside the walls. Your car (or minibus) driver will be waiting to take you on a tour of the famed Cote Emeraude - Emerald Coast.

First Stop: St. Malo
Great pains have been taken to keep St. Malo’s medieval history intact. Thick, high seawalls attest to the power of the northern ocean’s dramatic tides. Walking along those ramparts, you can easily imagine the pirate days of the old town. Be sure to shop for some Brittany specialties like butter cookies and cake, a fisherman’s sweater, or a distinctive blue striped scarf.

Second Stop: Dinan
In this charming market town, you’ll see distinctive narrow streets and preserved medieval architecture. Stroll the famous rue de Jerzual and visit the “Jardin Anglais”, take your crepe lunch in the town square, or pop into a friendly café for a cider quaff.

Final Stop: Mont St. Michel
Saving the best for last, you’ll go to Mont St. Michel, considered one of the wonders of the world, an amazing medieval accomplishment. The monastery at the top is reached along a series of stairs. Along the way, you’ll see quirky museums , shops and the famed Mere Poulard omelet café. If you don’t stop to eat, definitely watch the expert cooks as they create these masterpieces of air and egg.
